Vini Mini, an Amsterdam-based startup focused on preventing food allergies in babies through nutritional products and supplements, has announced securing funding from the Donor Impact Invest Fund (DIIF). The investment will be utilized to accelerate the growth of Vini Mini’s platform.

This funding announcement follows the recent accolade of Laurie Lancee, Vini Mini’s founder, who was crowned the winner of the FEM-START Up Awards 2023. Research supports the introduction of peanuts and eggs to babies at an early age, suggesting it can reduce the risk of developing these food allergies by 80%. Medical professionals and the Nutrition Center recommend introducing these foods to babies before they reach 6 to 8 months old, a guideline that Vini Mini’s products aim to facilitate.

Simplifying Infant Nutrition

Founded by Laurie Lancee, Vini Mini emerged from Lancee’s exploration into the gaps in nutrition during the first 1000 days of a newborn’s life. Alongside co-founder Jozien Boersma, Lancee developed Vini Mini to make the allergen introduction process easier, healthier, and safer for parents. The company’s products offer a straightforward and secure method for introducing allergens to babies, aiming to reduce the incidence of food allergies.

Backed by a Mission-Driven Investor

The Donor Impact Invest Fund (DIIF) focuses on investing in Dutch companies that not only aim for financial success but also prioritize social impact, aligning with the UN’s global impact goals (SDGs). This investment strategy emphasizes inclusiveness, circularity, and sustainability, fitting well with Vini Mini’s mission to become a key player in preventive child healthcare during the critical first 1000 days of life.

DIIF’s investment in the dutch startup underscores the fund’s commitment to innovative companies at the intersection of nutrition and health, aiming to prevent food allergies from an early age. This partnership highlights the shared vision of leveraging nutrition to improve infant health outcomes and prevent allergies, positioning the company as a pioneer in preventive child healthcare.
