London-based fintech startup Viable, which offers an Intelligent Finance platform for D2C, multi-channel, and wholesale commerce brands, has successfully raised €2.8 million in seed funding. The round was led by Episode 1, Haatch, and Portfolio Ventures, with participation from a group of angel investors headed by Martin Brailsford, former CEO of Internet Fusion.

Viable aims to simplify finance operations and optimize working capital for the next generation of online and multi-channel sellers. The platform leverages recent advancements in open banking, payments, and AI infrastructure to provide seamless financial management for businesses.

Simon Murdoch, managing partner of Episode 1, noted, “Given my background at Amazon and as an investor in numerous e-commerce businesses, I understand the difficulties these companies face in predicting cash flow and making strategic financial decisions. Viable makes it easier for business owners to plan ahead and achieve commercial success.”

Tailored Solutions for Modern Commerce

Founded in 2023 by Franklyn Martin, Henry Young, and Steven Haynes, Viable addresses the gap between traditional financial management processes and the needs of early-stage brands. The platform helps businesses manage financial tasks more efficiently, providing tools for transaction processing, financial reporting, budgeting, scenario visualization, and funding access.

Co-founder and CEO Franklyn Martin emphasized the company’s mission: “There’s a growing disconnect between traditional financial management and how early-stage brands need to operate. We’re building an intelligent finance product that equips merchants with the tools they need to excel in their financial performance.”

Expanding Reach and Capabilities

Since its launch, Viable has targeted sectors such as fashion, beauty, and health, helping sellers navigate the post-COVID-19 financial landscape marked by increasing costs, heightened competition, and tighter credit conditions. With the new funding, Viable plans to accelerate the development of embedded finance products, enhancing accessibility for merchants.

The seed funding will support Viable’s expansion into key markets, including the UK, Nordics, Spain, and Germany, as the company continues to innovate and provide cutting-edge financial solutions for digital commerce brands.
