Rome-based Rent2Cash, Italy’s pioneering startup in providing upfront rental payments to landlords, has successfully closed a €3 million pre-seed funding round. This round was backed by leading Italian banks, institutional investors, and business angels.

Founded in 2023, Rent2Cash is Italy’s first company specializing in “rental advance” services. The platform allows property owners to access immediate liquidity by advancing up to three years of future rent. For example, landlords can receive up to €10,680 immediately on a monthly rent of €1,000, with potential bonuses for no arrears or anomalies.

Paolo Gabriele, Head of Investment Banking Financial Institution at Banca Finint, expressed enthusiasm for the investment: “We are excited to support Rent2Cash. The platform offers a unique solution in a largely untapped market with significant growth potential. Our expertise in the securitization market will be invaluable to their expansion.”

Utilization of Funds

The new capital will support Rent2Cash’s launch and initial rental credit purchases, financed through Banca Finint’s securitization. The company plans to introduce new products, particularly for commercial properties, and enhance its technology platform. This includes expanding VAULT, their proprietary algorithm that evaluates over 50 criteria for personalized pricing based on property, rental agreements, and tenant profiles.

Strategic Hiring and Future Plans

Rent2Cash aims to hire 30 new employees in product development, sales, and marketing over the next 12 months. Founders Gianluca Fioranelli, Yilang Chen, and Marco Grassi view this funding as a validation of their business model: “This investment will accelerate our product development, launch our commercial real estate products, and support our growth and hiring goals. Our project aims to transform rental contracts into immediate liquidity, redefining the value of buildings in a market worth over €30 billion annually in Italy and $2.5 trillion worldwide.”

About Banca Finint
