London-based software startup Raycast has raised €27 million ($30 million) in a Series B funding round led by Atomico. Other investors included Accel, Coatue, Y Combinator, Atlassian Ventures, and several notable angels like Guillermo Rauch (CEO of Vercel), Thomas Dohmke (CEO of GitHub), and Tobi Lütke (CEO of Shopify). The funding will support Raycast’s expansion plans, particularly its development of Windows and iOS versions, and further its mission to enhance productivity with AI.
Founded in 2020, Raycast provides a platform that allows users to streamline workflows by launching and navigating key applications efficiently. With over 1,500 open-source extensions, users can automate tasks and maintain focus without needing to switch between apps like GitHub, Zoom, and Notion. The upcoming Pro version integrates AI, enabling users to interact with tools using natural language and create custom AI prompts, further boosting productivity.
Focus on Growth and Hiring
With this new capital, the startup aims to hire engineering, product, and UX specialists across Europe to scale its cross-platform offerings. CEO Thomas Paul Mann emphasized the importance of helping users achieve “flow” in their daily tasks, reducing distractions and maximizing focus.
Strong Investor Confidence
Luca Eisenstecken, Partner at Atomico, praised the company’s potential, noting its open-source community and significant user growth. Eisenstecken highlighted that 98% of users reported increased usage of Raycast over the past six months, underlining its impact on productivity.
