London-based PHINXT Robotics, which specializes in Autonomous Mobile Robotics (AMRs) for warehouses, has successfully raised €2.3 million (£2 million) in seed funding. This round was led by Ada Ventures and included co-investment from George Mensah of Sure Valley Ventures and Amar Shah, co-founder of Wayve.

PHINXT Robotics offers a platform that enables warehouses of any size to deploy autonomous robots, enhancing workflow automation without the need for server or IT infrastructure. Their robots operate autonomously and are fully configurable via a cloud platform and user interface, adapting to various warehouse layouts and tasks such as transporting goods, packing, sorting, and material handling.

Unlike traditional robotics companies, PHINXT Robotics focuses on a recurring revenue model based on software subscriptions, allowing customers to lease robots from partners. The platform is OEM agnostic, meaning it works with various robot brands, providing flexibility for warehouse owners to scale their operations as needed.

Founders and Vision

PHINXT was founded in 2022 by Yanwen Chen and Quirino Zagarese. Chen, the CEO, holds two PhDs in optimization of distributed and autonomous systems and has 11 years of experience in robotics. She developed an algorithm for safe robot self-orchestration. Zagarese, the CTO, has a PhD in Service Computing and over a decade of software engineering experience, including his role as Chief Architect at Yoti.

Utilization of Funds

The new funding will be used to expand PHINXT Robotics‘ sales, marketing, and operations teams. The company aims to deploy over 300 robots and expand into Europe, fine-tuning its product-led growth strategy. With traction from two key customers, PHINXT Robotics has the potential to roll out its technology globally, starting in the UK and Europe, and later expanding to the US and Asia.

Future Prospects

Beyond warehousing, PHINXT Robotics plans to venture into autonomous vehicles and drones, positioning itself at the forefront of automation technology.

With this substantial investment, PHINXT Robotics is set to transform the landscape of warehouse automation, providing scalable and flexible robotic solutions to meet the growing demands of the e-commerce industry.
