Ghent-based Otamiser, a leading provider of ranking management solutions for the hospitality industry, has raised €2.7 million ($3 million) in fresh funding. Previously operating with bootstrapped resources, Otamiser is now attracting tech investors to support its global expansion.
The funding round was led by Pitchdrive VC, represented by Wim Derkinderen, Boris Bogaert, and Koen Christiaens. Additional investors include Stijn Christiaens, Jacob Quartier, Peter van Praet, Viktor De Martealere, Lorenz Bogaert, Jorn Vanysacker, Gilles Mattelin, and Anthony and Gregory De Clerck. This group of investors will aid Otamiser in scaling its algorithm across 100,000 global properties, aiming to transform online visibility and booking platform rankings in the hotel and Airbnb industries.
Innovative Solutions for the Hospitality Sector
Founded in 2022, Otamiser revolutionizes revenue management for the hospitality industry with its advanced algorithm, which improves search result rankings on platforms like Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb. The company claims to be the only one globally integrating price and online visibility optimization, delivering a 24% revenue increase for its clients.
Leadership and Vision
Otamiser’s management team includes founder and CEO Bart-Jan Leyts and co-founder Korneel Defauw. The founding team also comprises Lucas Ballyn, CTO with expertise in AI, Nils Casteur, CCO, and Jarne Vancompernolle, COO specializing in hotel pricing strategies. Leyts explained, “Ranking on platforms like Booking.com and Airbnb is crucial. Similar to how companies aim to rank higher on Google, our automated solution helps hotels improve their positions on these travel platforms.”
Co-founder Defauw added, “Nearly three-quarters of all reservations come through travel platforms like Booking.com or Expedia. Research shows that 75% of bookings go to the top 15 hotels. Good positioning can make or break a hotel’s profit. We place our clients in those coveted top positions.”
Utilizing the New Funds
Otamiser plans to use the new funds to launch an AI tool for Airbnb operators and expand its commercial team to gain market leadership. The company’s mission is to transform the global hotel and Airbnb industry, empowering owners and ensuring profitability through advanced technology.
Leyts commented, “We started bootstrapped in 2022 and have since realized significant growth, proving our model works. Now it’s time to scale quickly with the support of Pitchdrive. We aim to roll out our solution to 100,000 units worldwide within two years, seizing this niche market as quickly as possible.”
Currently, Otamiser facilitates 50,000 reservations weekly, with plans to scale this to 500,000 weekly within the next two years.
With this substantial investment, Otamiser is set to drive significant advancements in the hospitality industry, enhancing revenue and online visibility for hotels and Airbnb operators worldwide.
