London-based AI startup Neuphonic, which focuses on revolutionizing human-AI communication with its cutting-edge text-to-speech (TTS) technology, has raised €3.5M in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Moonfire VC, with participation from Tiny VC, Salica Oryx Fund, and Cur8 Capital.
Neuphonic has developed a patent-pending TTS algorithm capable of generating speech in real time, with ultra-low latency of just 25 milliseconds—making it the fastest in the world. This breakthrough enables more natural and human-like communication, significantly improving the user experience in fields such as gaming, digital avatars, conversational AI, and real-time translation.
AI for Enhanced User Interaction
Co-founder and CEO Sohaib Ahmad emphasized the importance of eliminating latency to foster seamless AI interactions. Neuphonic’s platform allows businesses to integrate its real-time speech generation into their products, opening new possibilities for localization, customer service, and content creation.
A Vision for Voice AI
Founded by Sohaib Ahmad and Jiameng Gao, Neuphonic emerged from the founders’ shared passion for voice technology and their studies at Cambridge University. With backgrounds rooted in diverse languages and cultures, the team aims to bridge communication gaps and tackle the limitations of current TTS solutions.
The funding will be used to expand the language capabilities, improve model performance, and develop on-device solutions. As the demand for voice AI grows, the company is set to make a significant impact on the global market, which is projected to reach $41.39 billion by 2030.
