The startup eGabinet, initially created as an alternative to traditional phone-based appointment booking, now offers comprehensive and intuitive solutions for managing medical facilities and patient records, significantly simplifying the work of doctors and medical staff.

At the beginning of 2024, the company closed its second funding round, raising 2.4 million PLN from business angels. This year alone, under the leadership of Piotr Strychalski, the company introduced a range of new technological solutions, including a financial-accounting module, a virtual doctor’s assistant, and an advanced AI-powered voice bot.

FoundersToday:

Let’s start with what’s been happening at your company recently. You’ve launched an advanced AI-powered voice bot designed to support medical facilities with a range of operational tasks, such as appointment scheduling, confirmations or cancellations, and answering frequently asked questions. How exactly does this solution work in practice, and do medical facilities see real value in using it, or is it more perceived as a “cool” and interesting feature for patients?

Piotr Strychalski:

Our AI-powered voice bot is designed to seamlessly integrate with existing systems in medical facilities, enabling smooth communication with patients. It automates routine tasks such as appointment scheduling, reminders, confirmations, and even answering frequently asked questions. In practice, medical staff have found it significantly reduces the workload and frees up time for more critical tasks. For patients, the bot offers instant service and 24/7 availability, which enhances their experience. It’s more than just a “cool” feature—facilities are seeing tangible operational improvements, like faster response times and fewer no-shows, which directly impact efficiency.

FT:

Are modern patients truly ready to be assisted by AI, particularly when it comes to something as important as their health?

PS:

We were initially cautious about patient acceptance, but the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Patients today are much more tech-savvy and comfortable interacting with AI in various areas of their lives. In healthcare, convenience, speed, and accuracy are highly valued, and our AI voice bot provides just that. Of course, human oversight is still crucial, and AI doesn’t replace the personal touch doctors offer, but patients are increasingly open to using AI for administrative and less critical interactions.

FT:

eGabinet has been in the market for several years, and on your website, you claim to be “the most intuitive software for managing medical facilities.” How has your solution evolved over time, and what sets you apart, making you more effective than your competitors?

PS:

Our solution has evolved significantly since we first launched. We’ve expanded our offerings from basic scheduling to comprehensive facility management, including patient records, financial tools, and AI-driven innovations like the voice bot and virtual assistant. What truly sets us apart is our user-centric approach. Our software is designed to be intuitive for both medical staff and patients, reducing training time and increasing adoption rates. We also focus on continuous innovation, incorporating feedback from users to improve the system constantly. This adaptability, combined with cutting-edge technology, makes us more effective than competitors who often rely on legacy systems.

FT:

Do medical facilities recognize the need for change and willingly transition to your system, moving away from their current solutions, which are often supplied by long-standing industry giants?

PS:

Change is always challenging, especially in an industry dominated by established players. However, we’re seeing more and more facilities recognize the need for modern, agile solutions. The healthcare landscape is shifting toward greater digitalization, and outdated systems simply can’t keep up with the demands for efficiency and patient-centered care. Facilities that switch to eGabinet quickly realize the benefits in terms of time savings, better patient interactions, and streamlined workflows. We focus heavily on smooth onboarding and integration to make the transition as seamless as possible.

FT:

At the beginning of the year, you raised a second investment round of PLN 2.4M. How has this capital helped you grow in terms of eGabinet’s business results?

PS:

The investment has been instrumental in accelerating our growth. It allowed us to expand our development team, fast-track the release of new features like the financial-accounting module and voice bot, and scale our marketing efforts. As a result, we’ve seen a significant increase in user adoption and revenue growth. Additionally, we’ve been able to enhance customer support and further improve the user experience, which has contributed to higher client retention.

FT:

What business goals are you setting for yourselves in the coming months?

PS:

In the next few months, we’re focused on expanding our user base, particularly targeting larger medical facilities and networks. We also plan to continue improving our core product with new features based on user feedback. Another priority is to strengthen partnerships with industry stakeholders and explore international markets. Ultimately, our goal is to become the leading software solution for medical facilities in Poland and beyond.

FT:

Recently, you’ve been consistently introducing new products to your offering, such as the virtual doctor’s assistant and the AI-powered voice bot we mentioned earlier. Do you plan to continue your technological development and roll out more innovations?

PS:

Absolutely. Innovation is at the heart of eGabinet. We have a dedicated R&D team that’s constantly exploring new technologies, from AI to machine learning, that can further optimize the operations of medical facilities. We’re already working on a few exciting projects that aim to enhance patient-doctor interactions and streamline administrative tasks even more. Our roadmap is full of new innovations, and we’re excited to bring them to market in the coming months.

FT:

To wrap things up, tell us—where do you envision yourself and eGabinet in the coming years?

PS:

I see eGabinet becoming the go-to platform for managing medical facilities, not just in Poland but across Europe. We aim to lead the way in healthcare digitalization, continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI and cloud-based solutions. Personally, I want to continue driving innovation and ensuring that eGabinet remains at the forefront of the industry, helping medical professionals and patients benefit from the best technology available.
