Milan-based IdentifAI, a startup specializing in detecting AI-generated content, has secured €2.2 million in seed funding. The round was led by United Ventures, with contributions from notable business angels, including Edoardo Alessandri of Wellness Holding, Matteo Fago, co-founder of Venere.com, and Umberto Paolucci of UP Invest.

As the generative AI market expands—valued at $45 billion in 2023—the demand for solutions to identify fake content has surged. IdentifAI, founded by Marco Ramilli and Marco Castaldo, aims to address the growing threats posed by deepfakes in political, economic, and geopolitical contexts.

Innovative “De-Generative” AI Platform

The startup has developed a “de-generative” AI platform capable of distinguishing whether an image or video was produced by AI or by a human. This technology empowers individuals and decision-makers to clearly differentiate between content created by artificial intelligence and genuine human creativity.

Strategic Investment for Growth

The investment aligns with United Ventures’ focus on innovative solutions to complex problems. With the new funding, the company plans to refine its models and expand its impact in the deepfake detection industry. According to United Ventures’ Managing Partner Massimiliano Magrini, IdentifAI is well-positioned to capitalize on the increasing need to identify AI-generated content.
