Fluent, a London-based data analytics platform, has announced a successful seed funding round of $7.5M (approximately €6.89M). The round was led by Hoxton Ventures, a London-based early-stage venture firm, and Tiferes Ventures, marking a significant milestone in the company’s mission to streamline data accessibility and collaboration.
Fluent aims to revolutionize how teams work with data by providing real-time collaboration and a shared data dictionary, eliminating confusion and disagreements. Clark Valberg, Managing Partner of Tiferes Ventures and co-founder of InVision, highlighted Fluent’s potential to create a new paradigm of collaborative intelligence. “Fluent enables an entirely new paradigm of collaborative intelligence by democratizing real-time access to data-driven insights at every organizational altitude,” Valberg stated.
Addressing the Data Analysis Bottleneck
Charles Seely, Partner at Hoxton Ventures, emphasized the urgent need for Fluent’s innovative approach in a data-driven world. “In a data-driven world, the current approach to data analysis is selling businesses short, creating permanent bottlenecks in their organizations that slow everyone down and hamper decision-making,” Seely added.
Utilizing Capital for Expansion and Talent Acquisition
The funds will be used to fast-track the development of the technology and support the expansion of their team, with a focus on recruiting AI and machine learning experts across Europe. Ian Weber, Partner at Bain & Company, shared his experience with Fluent’s platform, noting its efficiency in delivering insights from large complex datasets for non-technical users.
Empowering Teams with Natural Language Interface
CEO Robert Van Den Bergh pointed out that 40% of a data team’s time is spent answering questions from across their business. The company’s natural language interface allows team members to self-serve on their data questions, freeing data teams to focus on deeper, more strategic analysis.
Bridging the Gap for Non-Technical Team Members
Cameron Whitehead, CTO at Fluent, noted the challenges non-technical team members face with business intelligence tools like Tableau and Looker. “Fluent is built to cater to those team members that aren’t data experts,” Whitehead added, emphasizing the platform’s user-friendly design.
With this seed funding, the startup is poised to further democratize data accessibility, enabling businesses to harness the power of data-driven insights efficiently and accurately, and transforming the landscape of enterprise data analysis.
