carbmee, a Berlin-based developer of AI-driven carbon management software, has raised €20 million in a funding round led by CommerzVentures, with participation from Fly Ventures.
The investment will support product innovation, global expansion, and the enhancement of carbmee’s Environmental Intelligence System and carbmee Studio customization tool.
Revolutionizing Carbon Management for Enterprises
Founded in 2021 by Christian Heinrich and Robin Spickers, the german firm provides a centralized platform to manage, reduce, and report carbon emissions with unparalleled precision. It helps enterprises address challenges in emissions tracking across supply chains, offering granular insights at the corporate, product, supplier, and SKU levels.
“Our platform enables companies to manage CO2 data with the same accuracy as financial data,” said Robin Spickers. “By eliminating data silos, we empower teams in procurement, finance, R&D, and sustainability to collaborate and make informed decisions.”
Tackling Scope 3 Emissions and Supply Chain Complexity
carbmee’s tools enable companies to:
- Collect data to select eco-friendly suppliers.
- Report emissions in compliance with CSRD and CBAM standards.
- Develop sustainable products.
- Reduce Scope 3 emissions, which account for over 80% of global emissions.
The platform is already used by industry leaders, including Lufthansa Technik, Maersk, Coca-Cola, and Miele.
Scaling with Support from Strategic Investors
Paul Morgenthaler, Managing Partner at CommerzVentures, praised carbmee’s growth and impact: “Their software simplifies the complexities of decarbonizing supply chains, addressing a critical need for businesses globally. We’re excited to support their journey.”
Leveraging AI for Sustainable Growth
The startups’ Environmental Intelligence System combines advanced data analytics with AI to deliver actionable insights, while its carbmee Studio allows for customized, AI-driven reporting and dashboards.
With revenue tripling year-on-year, the company is positioned to lead the decarbonization of global supply chains, providing tools to meet the growing demand for sustainable practices in manufacturing and beyond.e.
