Acuvity, a leader in AI security and governance, has raised $9 million in seed funding to enhance its platform designed to protect enterprises as they scale AI adoption. The funding round was led by Foundation Capital, with participation from investors such as Basil Alwan, Sri Reddy, and Jonathan Siddharth.

The funds will help Acuvity accelerate the development of its platform, which aims to mitigate risks associated with AI integration across businesses.

With the increasing use of generative AI (GenAI) and AI applications, enterprises face challenges such as data leaks and unauthorized access. Acuvity’s platform provides full visibility, language-based access controls, and real-time monitoring for all AI models, including large language models (LLMs) and custom applications. This ensures that companies can adopt AI safely while maintaining compliance and reducing exposure to risks.

Visibility and Control for GenAI Applications

The platform empowers enterprises by offering comprehensive insights into AI usage. The platform’s discovery and visualization engines allow companies to monitor GenAI interactions, track audit trails for regulatory compliance, and implement policies to manage risks. It also helps prevent sensitive data from being uploaded into LLMs, safeguarding critical business information.

Accelerating AI Development with Security-First Architecture

A unique feature of Acuvity’s platform is its “pluggable” AI security architecture, which enables developers to build and deploy AI applications securely without needing to modify existing code. This architecture speeds up AI development while ensuring that security remains a priority, allowing businesses to innovate without compromising safety.

Enterprise-Grade AI Security

The startup’s platform has already gained traction among enterprise customers, offering robust security for those adopting GenAI technologies. As highlighted by Satyam Sinha, Acuvity’s CEO and co-founder, the platform ensures that companies can accelerate AI usage confidently, without the risks traditionally associated with AI adoption.

Backing from Industry Experts

Foundation Capital General Partner Ashu Garg emphasized the importance of Acuvity’s role in helping enterprises navigate AI risks. “Every CEO, regardless of their industry, is rolling out AI strategies, but many lack the visibility into the risks involved. Acuvity transforms these risks into opportunities, enabling businesses to embrace AI with confidence.”

Experienced Leadership in AI Security

The company is led by co-founders Satyam Sinha and Antoine Mercadel, who bring extensive experience in security, having worked together at Aporeto before it was acquired by Palo Alto Networks. With a seasoned team, Acuvity is well-positioned to expand its platform and help enterprises securely scale their AI initiatives.
