Montpellier-headquartered Wheere, a startup specializing in the development of indoor and outdoor location systems, revealed it has raised €11M in a recent funding round.
The funding was provided by Blast.Club, SOFILARO Capital Investissement, Bpifrance, and business angels such as Arnaud Frey, Adrien Montfort, and Jacques Arthur Essebag.
The French company intends to utilize the funds to expedite its growth and enhance the development of its indoor and outdoor location systems.
Wheere: Transforming the Landscape of Geolocation
Wheere was established in 2019 by engineers Pierre-Arnaud Coquelin (CEO) and Antoine Carrabin (CTO), who conceived a groundbreaking idea to solve the universal challenge of location services.
The French company has introduced an innovative geolocation technology.
The startup’s technology offers precise location capabilities in both indoor and outdoor settings, distinguishing itself from GPS, which primarily functions outdoors.
Only a few antennas are necessary for comprehensive coverage, with as few as 6 antennas needed to effectively cover a 5 km x 5 km area.
Individuals and devices designated for location tracking are equipped with compact trackers weighing less than 100 grams. This cutting-edge technology allows for precise tracking within an accuracy threshold of less than 1 meter, regardless of the environment, whether indoors, outdoors, in basements, forests, or GPS-denied areas.
Wheere aims to set a new industry standard for geolocation by developing a specialized ASIC chip, expanding its presence in major global cities, and launching a constellation of satellites.
In the field of deep technology, Wheere operates with a highly skilled technical team consisting of top experts in RF, embedded electronics, and signal processing.
