Who are you, where are you from and what is your background?
We are a British company, founded in London. It has developed the leading autonomous robotics orchestration platform, which leverages AI, 5G, and edge computing to deploy drones and mobile robots powering autonomous applications for Enterprises, Industries and Smart Cities.
Unmanned Life is a modular software platform that is interoperable across hardware vendors and networks, scalable, and flexible in deployments. We have our existing success stories in autonomous surveillance, emergency response, asset inspections and hybrid logistics manufacturing.
The technology and business behind Unmanned Life started to be developed in 2016 with an initial investment from angel investors to develop initial Proofs of Concepts. After a reorganisation under a new structure and the entrance of institutional investors in 2021, the Company has seen a boom in partnerships and elevated it to the next level with, awards and customer deployments in Canada, UAE, Austria, Germany, Spain, UK and Switzerland.
We are now delivering the next generation of autonomous robotics in security, sustainability and supply chain.
How did you become a founder and what was the motivation for it?
I have always been entrepreneurial even without creating my own Company. Being an entrepreneur is more of a mindset rather than anything else. You want to build, you don´t give up on the first obstacle, and you want to lead and accomplish. Specifically, for Unmanned Life, I have been involved in entrepreneurship and innovation in Europe for the last 11 years and I saw robotics, drones and 5G space emerge as one of the key areas that were going to revolutionize our economy. There was a huge opportunity for me to enter the market and do something different with the network and connections that I had made during those years in innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe. And here we are.
What is the name of your start-up and what exactly do you do?
The name of our company is Unmanned Life, and our technology deploys, controls, and orchestrates fleets of autonomous robots to work together as an intelligent brain.
Thanks to a strong partnership with leading telecom operators, the company can address a large pool of enterprise customers looking for such solutions from their telecom partners. This has made Unmanned Life a strong brand in the emerging 5G, Edge Computing, Robotics and Autonomy technology scene. Imagine the future, fleets of drones and robots, working together, enabled by the strongest connectivity – we are doing this today.
Where should the journey with your start-up go and where do you see yourself in 5 years?
The vision of our Company is “Autonomous Everything”. I call this autonomous everything: it will be the moment when society will have reached progress thanks to the development, adoption and integration of autonomous robotics across society. With the right ethical checks and balances, this can deliver huge advances to society. I see Unmanned Life delivering this and I would love to be still leading this, Company.
What tips can you give young Founders?
- Show hunger for excellence and don’t settle for anything less.
- Keep up to date with the latest trends in your industry and evolve with the changing times.
- Nothing can be achieved alone, so collaborate with partners in the eco-system.
- Honesty and humility will take you far.
What is your favourite quote or your own quote?
With our advanced software platform and its limitless applications, we are pushing the boundaries of global technology, attracting attention and admiration worldwide. This does, however, come with its own challenges and difficulties. But with Unmanned Life’s resilient and determined team we make it happen every single day. We are pioneering new technological advancements that will revolutionise business models across smart cities and industry4.0
