Kraaft, a Paris-based startup revolutionizing communication in the construction industry, has secured €13 million in Series A funding to further develop its platform and expand into new markets, including the UK and Germany.
The funding round was led by Dawn Capital, a leading B2B software investor in Europe, with participation from Brick & Mortar Ventures, Chalfen Ventures, Stride VC, and OSS Ventures.
Transforming Construction Communication
Founded in 2020 by Marc Nègre, Cédric Boidin, and Thomas Reygagne, Kraaft offers an industry-specific messaging platform that combines the ease of WhatsApp with tailored features such as:
- Photo geolocation for real-time project tracking.
- Customizable reporting tools to improve documentation and compliance.
- AI-powered workflows to enhance productivity and collaboration between field and office teams.
The startup aims to bridge the gap between field workers and office operations, providing a simple, intuitive solution that requires no training. The platform has already helped improve project management efficiency by 15%, particularly in handling change orders.
Addressing the Industry’s Digital Gap
Despite being a $13 trillion global industry, construction has seen limited productivity growth over the past two decades, largely due to slow digital adoption. Kraaft seeks to change this by offering a user-friendly platform tailored for frontline workers who often have limited access to digital tools.
Guillaume Bazouin, Partner at Brick & Mortar Ventures, commented:
“Kraaft is transforming the construction industry by replacing outdated communication tools with a purpose-built platform that enhances efficiency, collaboration, and project margins.”
Rapid Growth and Future Plans
Initially launched to address communication gaps in factories, the firm gained traction on construction sites during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, it has experienced exponential growth, raising a €3.2M seed round in 2023 and tripling its user base to over 1,000 companies, including major European firms such as SAUR, NGE, SPIE CityNetworks, and Ramery.
Looking ahead to 2025, Kraaft plans to introduce new features, including:
- Project planning and timesheets for enhanced management.
- API integrations with platforms like Procore.
- AI-driven tools to automate workflows and optimize processes.
Expanding Internationally
With the new funding, Kraaft aims to strengthen its presence across Europe, focusing on expanding in key markets such as the UK and Germany while continuing to develop new functionalities to cater to the evolving needs of the construction sector.
Thomas Reygagne, co-founder and CEO of Kraaft, emphasized the company’s mission:
“Construction has been left behind by tech innovation for too long. With Kraaft, we’re making collaboration effortless and improving productivity across the sector.”
With strong investor backing and a clear growth trajectory, Kraaft is well-positioned to revolutionize communication and workflow management in the construction industry.
