Advancing Zero-Emission Air Travel
VÆRIDION is developing the Microliner, a zero-emission electric aircraft designed for regional travel. The Microliner will accommodate up to nine passengers, connecting decentralized regions with a nominal range of 400 km, plus reserves. The aircraft promises low operating costs, minimal noise, and suitability for small airfields, enabling efficient deployment in underserved areas.
Key milestones include:
- Prototype flights set for 2027.
- Commercial launch by 2030, targeting ticket prices comparable to first-class high-speed rail.
- Partnerships with Copenhagen AirTaxi, ASL Group, and Aero-Dienst.
Ivor van Dartel, Co-founder and CEO, stated:
“Our Microliner addresses the urgent need for zero-emission travel alternatives and enhanced regional connectivity, setting a new standard for sustainable aviation at competitive prices.”
Focus on Sustainability and Expansion
VÆRIDION opened a battery development facility at the Bosch Collaboration Campus and launched a subsidiary in the Netherlands to leverage innovation at TU Delft. The company aims to support Europe’s energy-efficient aviation goals and create significant time savings for travelers.
Backing from World Fund
World Fund, Europe’s leading climate-focused VC, emphasized the urgency of decarbonizing aviation. Daria Saharova, General Partner, noted:
