LearnWise, an AI-powered edtech platform based in Amsterdam, has raised €2 million in seed funding led by London-based VC firm Emerge.
This funding will support the startup in enhancing its platform, expanding its team, and addressing the growing demand for scalable student support solutions in universities.
Transforming University Support Systems
Founded in 2023, LearnWise integrates with popular education tools like Canvas, Moodle, and Blackboard to offer seamless, AI-driven student support. The platform goes beyond traditional chatbots by acting as a digital concierge, providing 24/7 multilingual assistance and real-time analytics to identify and resolve systemic issues within universities.
“Students need more than a chatbot—they need a personalized, fully integrated support system that understands their journey,” said Greg Marschall, CEO of LearnWise.
The startups has already reduced support queries by 50% for over 720,000 students globally, helping universities scale their support systems efficiently while improving the overall student experience.
Driving Growth with Edtech Expertise
The leadership team, including education technology veterans such as Greg Marschall, Michel Visser, and Pietro Vigilanza, brings deep expertise from companies like Instructure, EesySoft, and FeedbackFruits. Earlier this month, Michel Visser joined as Chairman of the Board and interim Chief Growth Officer, bringing 12 years of scaling experience from EesySoft.
“Michel’s expertise in edtech and higher education is invaluable as we scale LearnWise,” said Marschall.
Backing from Edtech Specialist Fund Emerge
Emerge, Europe’s only edtech-focused VC fund, has supported over 80 companies impacting 31 million learners globally. General Partner Nic Newman highlighted LearnWise’s alignment with Emerge’s mission: “LearnWise ensures every student can access the help they need, whenever they need it, making education truly inclusive and accessible.”
With this funding, the dutch firm is set to redefine how universities approach student support, empowering institutions to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions.
