Oslo-based Glint Solar, a developer of software for solar project planning, has raised €7.4 million in a Series A round led by Smedvig Ventures.
Additional support came from Momentum, Futurum Ventures, and Antler. The funds will enable the startup to scale its platform, which accelerates solar project assessment and streamlines planning for developers across 35 countries.
Transforming Solar Project Planning with AI
Founded in 2020, Glint Solar’s software simplifies the process of assessing and selecting ideal sites for solar energy projects. By integrating yield estimates, GIS data, and 3D project layouts, the platform reduces the time developers spend on site identification and permits, helping them increase project pipelines and lower land negotiation costs.
Expanding Global Reach and Capabilities
Following a successful $3M seed round in 2022, Glint Solar has more than tripled its customer base, including global energy leaders like Recurrent Energy, Statkraft, and E.ON. With this new funding, Glint Solar aims to double its team and add features to optimize energy storage placements, further enhancing its software to support rapid solar adoption worldwide.
CEO Harald Olderheim emphasized the need for quicker renewable energy development, stating that the platform’s continued innovation will make solar deployment more efficient to combat climate change.
