Aarhus-based Cordulus, specializing in hyperlocal AI-driven weather predictions, has raised €3 million in funding from Danish Agro and the Pajbjerg Foundation.
The funding will support the expansion into new markets and enhance its mission to provide accurate weather forecasts across various industries.
Revolutionizing Weather Forecasting with AI
Cordulus has developed an AI-based weather model that improves forecasting accuracy by 50% compared to traditional methods. The company leverages a network of over 4,000 weather stations across Northern Europe, analyzing data from satellite images and radar to deliver precise weather insights. These capabilities are crucial for sectors like agriculture, helping companies manage weather-related risks, optimize resources, and reduce carbon footprints.
Strengthening Agriculture with Technology
Danish Agro, a longtime investor, highlighted the value of Cordulus’ technology for farmers in the Baltic Sea region. The Pajbjerg Foundation, focused on crop research, emphasized the importance of reliable weather data for plant breeding and agricultural planning.
CEO John Smedegaard expressed that this investment reinforces the startup’s role in the green economy, enabling industries to harness AI for environmental impact.
