Danish SaaS startup Kanpla, focused on modernizing the contract catering industry, has secured €8 million in a Series A round led by Dutch VC HenQ.
With this funding, Kanpla aims to expand its digital platform for canteen management across Europe and the United States in 2025, enhancing flexibility and sustainability for corporate and educational dining services.
Tackling Industry Challenges with a Digital Solution
The platform allows over 3,000 canteens to optimize operations, reduce food waste, and enhance customer experience. Users can view menu options with CO2 impact data, make purchases, earn loyalty points, and provide feedback via mobile, web, or in-app services. The danish firm currently serves 250,000 users across 10 countries, including the UK, Benelux, and Scandinavia.
Aiming for Global Leadership
Co-founder and COO Jonas Gøttler highlighted the startup’s mission to lead the digital transformation of contract catering. The company plans to double its 45-member team to support expansion and deliver a more sustainable dining experience for clients.
HenQ’s Partner Jan Andriessen expressed strong confidence in Kanpla’s growth, leading a rare internal round to support the company’s rapid international reach. HenQ previously supported Kanpla in a €2.2 million seed round that propelled its entry into the Dutch market.
