Helsinki-based AI infrastructure provider DataCrunch has raised €12 million in a seed funding round led by byFounders, with participation from J12 Ventures and several angel investors, including founders from Aiven, Smartly, and former researchers from DeepMind.

The company will use the funds to scale its infrastructure as it sets out to become Europe’s first AI hyperscaler.

Expanding AI Capabilities with Hyperscale Infrastructure

Founded in 2020 by Ruben Bryon, DataCrunch offers high-performance, cloud-based GPU solutions for AI training and inference. The platform allows businesses to scale computing resources based on demand, offering flexible and cost-efficient solutions. With data centers in Finland and Iceland powered by renewable energy, DataCrunch serves AI workloads at a fraction of the cost of traditional cloud providers.

Future Growth with Nvidia Technology

The company plans to enhance its services by deploying Nvidia H200 servers and adopting GB200 NVL72 clusters in 2025, further improving its infrastructure’s speed and capacity. This round brings the total capital raised to €16.5M.

CEO Ruben Bryon emphasized the company’s mission to provide AI companies with better, more affordable computing solutions, addressing the complexities and high costs that have become the industry norm.
