Cudis, a wearable device startup known for its AI-powered health ring, has secured $5 million in seed funding to expand into larger markets and enhance its AI-driven health features.
The funding round was led by Draper Associates, with participation from DraperDragon, Skybridge, Penrose, SNZ, and others. Prominent individual investors, including Kalin Stoyanchev of Render Network and Adam Jin of the Solana Foundation, also contributed.
Innovative Health and Wellness Features
Launched in April 2024, the Cudis ring differentiates itself from competitors like the Oura Ring by integrating AI and blockchain technology. The device offers personalized health coaching through OpenAI’s ChatGPT, providing users with tailored advice from experts and real-time health data tracking. The ring monitors sleep, heart rate, and activity levels, while using the Solana blockchain to gamify health goals, rewarding users with points that can be redeemed for exclusive perks.
Global Demand and Future Expansion
The company has already pre-sold 6,000 rings in over 50 countries and built a community of 50,000 members. The new funding will support the company’s plans to distribute over 1 million rings within the next 18 months, enhance its AI health coach, and strengthen gamification features. CEO Edison Chen emphasized the mission to empower users by combining wearable tech, blockchain, and AI to improve personal health management.
