Milan-based Futura, an AI-driven education company, has successfully raised €14 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Eurazeo, with participation from existing investor United Ventures and new investor Axon Partners Group.

Since its last funding round in 2022 where it raised €1.8 million, Futura has seen substantial growth, tripling its revenue annually and achieving profitability. The newly acquired funds will be used to broaden its reach throughout Europe and develop new products beyond its initial focus on medical school entrance exam preparation.

AI-Powered Education Approach

Founded in 2020 by Andrea Chirolli, Francesco Salvatore, and Lorenzo Pinto, Futura aims to become the next Italian unicorn by transforming traditional education. The company leverages a proprietary algorithm that personalizes and optimizes students’ learning paths, effectively replicating the experience of a private tutor.

The platform, powered by an AI virtual tutor named Alice, uses large language models to generate customized learning materials and feedback based on each student’s knowledge level and learning style.

Vision for the Future

“We have a strong proven track record on growth, but what counts are our people. We set a different standard, and this is what drives our success. I strongly believe these two go hand in hand and this is what makes us attract top talents,” said Andrea Chirolli, co-founder of Futura.

Investor Support and Strategic Goals

Eurazeo, a European investment group with a diversified asset base, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Futura. “We’re convinced that Futura provides a value-added solution for the entire education ecosystem in Italy. We’re thrilled to partner with Andrea, Lorenzo, Francesco, and the rest of the team, leveraging its unique AI capabilities to build the next education leader in Europe,” commented Alexandre Dewez, vice president at Eurazeo.

Paolo Gesess, co-founder & managing partner at United Ventures, also praised Futura’s innovative approach: “Futura is addressing a massive need through an innovative approach that leverages the latest technologies. We’re excited to continue supporting their vision of reimagining education and helping many more students succeed.”

With this significant investment, the startup is set to expand its innovative educational solutions across Europe, aiming to make high-quality personalized education accessible to a broader audience.
