WIVI Vision, a Madrid-based health tech startup, has secured €4M in a mix of equity and debt in its Series A funding round, led by Adara Ventures. The round saw participation from a consortium of investors including Hearstlab, Avançsa, Caixabank DayOne, BBVA Spark, Banco Santander, and existing partners such as Peak Thomas (Pedro Tortosa) and VC Go GMBH.
The capital infusion will be utilized to bolster WIVI Vision’s growth both domestically and internationally, alongside accelerating team expansion and the development of new technologies. This funding brings the company’s total raised capital to €7M, positioning it for significant growth in the visual health sector.
Revolutionizing Visual Health with AI
Co-founded by Eva García Ramos and Juan Carlos Ondategui-Parra in 2016, WIVI Vision aims to address the unmet needs in visual dysfunction assessment and treatment within the optical industry. Leveraging big data and artificial intelligence (AI), WIVI Vision offers a gamified, personalized training program based on 3D games to improve vision. The solution, which boasts a 95% effectiveness rate, has been approved by the Spanish Ministry of Health as a medical class.
Expanding Internationally
Following a recent agreement with Vision Rehab Technologies, WIVI Vision is set to expand its innovative technology to the United States, becoming the exclusive distributor in the region. This move is part of WIVI Vision’s broader strategy to launch in more countries in the coming years, aiming to become the reference in visual health assessment and training at an affordable price.
